  • 1 1/2 cups broccoli florets cut into small bite-sized pieces
  • 2 tablespoons unsalted butter
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1 teaspoon dried thyme crumbled between your fingers
  • 1 teaspoon fine sea salt or to taste, adjust if ham is very salty
  • 1/2 teaspoon freshly ground black pepper or to taste
  • 1/4 teaspoon crushed red pepper flakes optional, for a touch of heat
  • 2 tablespoons fresh parsley chopped, for garnish
